Comic Mint is pleased to offer FRIZ FRELENG fans this unique piece of animation art featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck in the throws of a "Swashbuckling Swordfight".
The romanticism of adventure is the name of the game, in this 16-field limited cel from famed Warner Bros. director Friz Freleng. Set in a beautiful and dramatic medieval castle, our hero Bugs Bunny shows that rapscallion Daffy Duck the literal edge of his rapier-like wit. As Bugs denudes Daffy of his plumage, he truly knows that "...Swashbuckling is as swashbuckling does...Doc!".
This limited edition cel began with a drawing by Friz Freleng. The master line image was then silkscreened onto an acetate sheet (or "cel") along with the Warner Bros. Masters Collection/Friz Freleng seal. Each cel was then expertly hand-painted on the reverse side. The original background was reproduced using a four-color lithography process on acid-free paper. The edition number was hand-inked on each cel in an edition of 750. Finally, Mr. Freleng approved each cel with his signature.
This edition of 750 pieces (worldwide) has been SOLD-OUT for over two decades, as it was released way back in 1994, and is very hard to find. The artwork is comprised of a single hand painted cel placed against a photographic background, with an image area measuring 16" x 13" inches (unframed). The cel has the official Warner Brothers gold seal (upper left corner), and is accompanied with a letter of authenticity.
