Comic Mint is pleased to offer Looney Tunes fans this unique piece of animation art featuring Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner, in this clever limited edition titled "Famishius Vulgaris Ingeniusi vs. Birdius High-Ballius," (2005).
The idea Wile E. Coyote will ever net the Road Runner for his own sustenance has been one of the longest running jokes in animation history. Beginning in 1949 with "Fast and Furry-ous", from which this image is taken, we have since seen in the forty-one cartoon run of coyote/road runner cartoons, the evolutionary process that has grown from a quick-feathered snack to an obsession - at least for Wile E.
This cartoon, directed by Chuck Jones, and introducing for the first time the coyote and road runner characters, both of whom were created by Chuck Jones, brought an entirely new theme into the Looney Tunes universe. Never before had a Looney Tunes short been depicted within the Desert Southwest, and never had anyone heard of the ACME brand. Now institutions in their own right, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner's popularity has not missed a beat for over fifty years. If in the least, that's a tasty tidbit worth chewing on.
This edition was drawn by Darrell Van Citters from the original animation. The master-inking was completed by Laurie Dindis. Each piece was expertly hand-painted on the reverse side in the classic animation style. Each cel was finalized with the Clampett Studio Collections seal of authenticity. The background was created by Hector Martinez and reproduced using the fine art giclee process. The image area measures 12.5" x 10.5" inches (unframed) and is accompanied with the official studio certificate of authenticity.
