Comic Mint, is pleased to offer FRIZ FRELENG fans this unique piece of animation art featuring Yosemite Sam.
From the Warner Bros. Friz Freleng Masters Collection, "Whoa Nellie! Whoa Mule!" Yosemite Sam hangs on tight for the two fisted, shoe flying, rootinest, tootinest ride that ever a bronco buster braved. This limited edition cel from famed Warner Bros. director Friz Freleng shows the contrast between the sketchy "rough" animation drawings (on the background) and the "cleaned up" look of an inked and painted cel. The rough drawings capture the feel and movement of the cartoon's storyboard, translating the directors ideas into motion. Once the line quality of these drawings has been cleaned up, they are inked and painted onto a cel. This is the rendition of the characters that people are most accustomed to seeing.
This limited edition cel and background setup were developed from an original drawing by animation great FRIZ FRELENG.
The master inking of Yosemite Sam on the horse was silkscreened onto an acetate sheet (or "cel"). The cel was also silkscreened with the Warner Bros. Masters Collection / Friz Freleng gold seal. The cel was then hand painted on the reverse side, bringing the characters to life with color. Special attention was paid in the printing of the background in order to maintain the delicate quality of the original sketches. The final step is the hand inking of the edition number on each cel, in an edition of 750 pieces worldwide. The edition is hand signed by Friz Freleng (1905-1995).
Please note that this is a SOLD-OUT edition, it was released way back in 1994, and is extremely hard to find. The artwork measures 16" x 13" inches and the artwork is in excellent condition.
