Comic Mint is pleased to offer BOB CLAMPETT fans this unique piece of animation art titled: "Birdy And The Beast" featuring Tweety.
Taken from the 1942, Bob Clampett-directed classic, “Birdy and The Beast,” the image of Tweety shown here was how he first appeared before Warner Bros. insisted he be “clothed,” a solution achieved when Clampett, who created Tweety, decided to line the little canary with yellow feathers.
“Birdy and the Beast” is Clampett’s second Tweety cartoon and the first to feature Tweety in a starring role. In addition to the starring role, this little speck of bird was also given his name in this cartoon.
This limited edition cel set is a recreation from the classic Warner Bros. cartoon, “Birdy And The Beast” The cel set begins with a master inking from the animation with is then silkscreened onto celluloid. Each cel is then hand-painted and the backgrounds lithography printed on archival rag paper. The set is stamped with the Warner Bros. /Bob Clampett Master Collection seal and finally the limited edition number is hand-inked on each cel in an edition size of 500 with 25 artist proofs. Upon completion of the edition the inking and background are archived.
This edition of 500 pieces (worldwide) has been SOLD-OUT for over two decades, as it was released way back in 1987, and is very hard to find. The diptych is comprised of 2 cels each measuring 10.0" x 11.5" inches (unframed), and placed against a photographic background.
