We are pleased to offer PEANUTS fans this unique piece of animation art entitled: "Dog on Duty ...the Flying Ace Dreams" which was created under the artistic direction of animation director, Lawrence Leichliter, at Bill Melendez Productions, Inc., in association with Lee Mendelson Productions and Charles M. Schulz's Creative Associates in 2016.

Larry Leichliter sketched a series of storyboard panels based on Snoopy's World War 1 Flying Ace, imagined journey through the French countryside after crashing his Sopwith Camel in battle. Mr. Leichliter focused on Snoopy, resting ever so briefly atop a haystack under the moonlit sky.

Diligently preserving these treasured moments from the much loved television special "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", "Dog on Duty... the Flying Ace Dreams" has been fashioned in the finest tradition of Bill Melendez Productions, Inc.
This two-level limited edition animation cel set-up is hand-inked & hand-painted. To bring to life the haystack, which was a held cel in original production; the first level of each piece in this edition is a hand painted haystack, using many different paint styles and techniques, creating a unique cel set-up! Each cel set-up is presented on a giclee printed background.
The background print was replicated on Arches 315 gsm 100% museum cotton rag paper from artwork especially prepared for this limited edition.

Created on Arches Velin Museum Rag paper, the girl storyboard sequence is signed by Mr. Leichliter. The finest archival inks were utilised to create both the storyboard sequence print and the background print. The edition size is 66 pieces, commemorating the year of this production, and each piece is individually numbered and bears the Peanuts Film Gallery seal of authenticity and is accompanied with the studio certificate of authenticity. The cel image size measures 12" x 9.75" inches (unframed), and the storyboard girl print size measures 13.5" x 8.5" inches and is signed by Larry Leichliter.
