Comic Mint, your best source for rare, kooky, and classic animation art, is pleased to offer Hanna-Barbera fans this sensational ORIGINAL hand painted production cel setup from the classic sixties television series 'The Abbott and Costello Cartoon Show’.
This rare production setup is comprised of four hand-inked and hand-painted cels featuring full-figure images of Lou Costello and Bud Abbott wearing a helmet. The cels are paired with a hand-painted production background from the series, and the top cel is signed by Bill Hanna. The beloved comedy team of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello was introduced to a new generation with this syndicated animated series, originally shown from September 9th, 1967 until June 1st, 1968. This series was the last professional work Bud Abbott (1897-1974) did providing his voice work for his own character on this syndicated cartoon series.
There were 39 episodes released, each with four cartoons featuring devious straight man Abbott and his dimwitted pal Costello in various settings. Many of the cartoons appear to have been lost, and animation production art from the show is very tough to locate today.
Nice full-figure images of both characters, with sizes of 3.75" and 5.25” inches. The cels and background are trimmed like most Hanna-Barbera cels from this period, and measure 11” x 9” inches. Please note there is vertical crease in the top cel in the right hand corner, visible in the photo supplied, but can be easily matted out when framed, not effecting the presentation.
Cels such as these are EXTREMELY RARE as most were destroyed by the studio, so finding a production setup such as this is virtually impossible!
