Comic Mint is your best source for 100% genuine Simpsons Animation Artwork licensed by Twentieth Century Fox. We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this outstanding hand painted original key master setup: Original production cels applied to the matching original hand painted background, from the classic first-ever SIMPSONS episode from season one "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" (1989). This is also accompanied with an original 1989 cast signed promotional photo, signed by Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith - these were issued to major heads of networks and advertisers and are extremely rare.

This historical piece of SIMPSONS artwork features the first ever appearance of Ned Flanders and his son Todd. This scene appears on screen around the 10:29 mark.

Homer goes to the Circus of Values store (nothing over $5.00). He buys a six-pack of panty hose for Marge, pads of paper for Bart, and a squeak toy pork chop for Maggie. ("It says it's for dogs, butshe can't read.'') On his way out, he bumps into Ned Flanders, laden with gifts.Their respective armfuls of goodies fall into the snow:Ned: "Oh ho ho, Simpson, it's you”Homer: "Hello, Flanders” Ned: "Oh my, what a little mess we've got here. Well, which ones are yoursand which ones are mine?”

This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 10:29 mark. The characters are hand-painted onto separate cels, and placed against the original hand-painted production cel background.

This 12 field, 3-peghole, 7 cel setup measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide. Please note that most artwork from this episode was released by Twentieth Century Fox without studio seals. The artwork is accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.

EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", also known as "The Simpsons Christmas Special", is the series premiere episode of The Simpsons. It was the first episode to air despite originally being the eighth episode produced for season one. It is the only full-length episode to air during the 1980s, having originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on Sunday, December 17th, 1989.
In the episode, Homer Simpson discovers that he will not be getting a Christmas bonus and thus his family has no money to buy Christmas presents after they had to waste money on getting his son Bart's tattoo removed. He decides to keep their financial troubles a secret and gets a job as a shopping mall Santa Claus, but later discovers that the job does not pay enough. Desperate for a miracle, Homer and Bart go to the dog-racing track on Christmas Eve in hopes of earning some money but end up adopting an abandoned greyhound, Santa's Little Helper.
