We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel setup, from the classic ninth season episode "Lisa's Sax" (1997).
Homer notices a sign in the window of the King Toot's Music Store reading "Musical Instruments: The Way To Encourage A Gifted Child”. Inside the store, Homer and Lisa pursue their options. Homer: "So, what do you like, Lisa? Vio-ma-lin? Tuba-ma-ba? Oboe-mo-boe?" Lisa: (pointing) "That one!” Homer: "Oh...saxo-ma-phone. (reads price tag) Two hundred dollars?!" Homer decides to buy the instrument, and hands Lisa the sax, who blows once on the horn and giggles. The Store Owner asks Homer if he would you like an inscription? Homer: “Yeah. To Lisa: never forget your daddy loves…(drops sax on foot)…d'oh!"
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 19:33 mark. Lisa playing the sax is hand-painted onto a single cel, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background. This cel is also accompanied with the original matching scene drawing, which is rendered in graphite pencil.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
