We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel from the classic fifth season episode "Lady Bouvier's Lover" (1994).
Sensational night scene at the Simpsons house, featuring Abe and Homer sitting together on the couch. Abe is sharply dressed, awaiting the arrival of his new belle. Homer advises his dad that if he’s going to make a move, he’s got to play it cool (jazz bass and cymbals start playing, with Homer singing to the beat) “Now what you gotta do If you wanna get a kiss, is act real smooth, and make your move like this!” (stands up, stretches and yawns, and sits down again, arm still outstretched so it lands around Abe's shoulder). Abe: “Oh, I see!“ (to the beat) So if I take your advice, and make your patented move, then my chances for love will slightly improve?” (does the Homer move) Homer: (giggles) “Now what's that rule?” Abe: “Play it cool” (music stops).
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 11:26 mark. Both characters are hand-painted onto separate cels and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
