Sensational scene featuring Homer battling Barney in a parody from "Star Trek" (the original series). The two characters are battling in the ring from the episode "Gamesters of Triskelion".
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 09:49 mark. Homer and Barney are hand-painted onto separate cels, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Deep Space Homer" is the fifteenth episode of The Simpsons' fifth season and first aired on February 24th, 1994.
In the episode, NASA is concerned by the decline in public interest in space exploration, and therefore decides to send an ordinary person into space. Homer is selected and chaos ensues when the navigation system on his space shuttle is destroyed. Buzz Aldrin and James Taylor both guest starred as themselves.
