The Ren and Stimpy Show “The Boy Who Cried Rat" Production Cel Setup (1991).
We are pleased to offer Ren & Stimpy fans this original production cel setup from the Season One episode directed by John Kricfalusi.
Stimpy (The house cat) holds up Ren (disguised as a mouse), as the owner of the house, Mr. Pipe, confronts them:
Mr. Pipe: "Hey, cat!" (Stimpy reaches for the doorknob, but stops and turns around) "Aren't you gonna eat that mouse?" (Ren and Stimpy both look shocked and Stimpy's hat deflates) Well, go ahead. Put him in your mouth !!!!”
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted cel setup which was filmed and used in the making of this episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 06:16 mark. The animation cel measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide and have the three-peg punch holes, and bear the Nickelodeon gold seal (upper corner). The cel is placed against the matching scene background and accompanied with the original Nickelodeon certificate of authenticity.
Episode Synopsis:
"The Boy Who Cried Rat" is an episode of The Ren & Stimpy Show that originally aired on September 8th, 1991 and was the 6th episode in the series.
When Ren and Stimpy are caught stealing out of garbage cans, they are chased out on the streets, and begin to starve. The pair then hatches a plan to get money and food: disguise Ren as a mouse and put him in the Pipes' home, and turn Stimpy into a neighborhood mouse catcher.
