Comic Mint, your best source for rare, kooky, and classic animation art, is pleased to offer GIGANTOR fans this sensational hand-inked and hand-painted publicity cel placed against a giclee print background. This cel features a huge image of GIGANTOR which is one of the prototypes which were kept at the studio till it’s closure.
In 1963, Fred Ladd (shortly after releasing an English-language adaptation of Astroboy) and Delphi Associates adapted and overdubbed 52 episodes of the Japanese Sci-fi children's cartoon Tetsujin-28, releasing and distributing for the American TV market as Gigantor.
Set in the year 2000, Gigantor tells the story of Jimmy Sparks and his remote-controlled flying robot, Gigantor. Critically panned by adults, the cartoons were a hit with kids and have become a cult classic for baby boomer sci-fi robot fans.
